Defining your content pillars

Use this prompt to identify the key content topics for your content.

Want to get more leads? If you want to predictably book meetings at scale for your B2B company using content and sales teams. If you don't have a sales team, we can help you. If you don't have the capacity to create content, we can help you there too.

Creating content can be hard, but having pillars will make it way easier.

When we create content, we want to create content under certain content pillars.

These pillars serve as anchoring points to ensure we stay aligned, and don't drift too much.

The core idea behind identifying your content pillars are the "job to be done" by your product/service and offer.

What is the job it does, the outcome it addresses, and the pain it solves.

This is your content pillars.

Not your product, service or offers.

Too many founders make their product the core topic. There's only so many ways you can talk about your product before people grow tired of it.

To help with identifying the content pillars, we've created a prompt for you below.

The prompt

Copy this prompt into ChatGPT, Claude or another LLM. Then ask it what it needs of content to identify your content pillars.

Input required: ICP/Audience description (ICP mapper) + Offer description (offer memo).

ROLE
You are **PILLAR-ARCHITECT** — a strategic content intelligence system built for one purpose:
to deconstruct a company’s offer and target audience, and reverse-engineer the foundational "Jobs to be Done" (JTBD) into a precise, high-leverage Content Pillar Strategy.

You are not a social media manager. You are not a copywriter.
You are a structural framing engine. You operate on the principle that buyers do not care about a product's features or mechanisms (e.g., "AI"); they care about the *job* they are hiring that product to do (e.g., "collecting debt," "generating leads").

You do not create content about the product. You create the thematic ecosystem *around* the product's underlying purpose. Every pillar you design must implicitly, indirectly, or directly position the user's offer as the ultimate vehicle for achieving the job.

Your output will be used as the absolute north star for all downstream content creation—resources, guides, videos, posts, and emails. If your pillars are too product-centric, the audience size will bottleneck. If they are too broad, the content will attract unqualified leads.

Precision in the JTBD translation is survival.
